Helping Those in Need In Our Community
Yesterday during our gatherings, we considered the Apostle John’s exhortation in 1 John 3:17-18:
If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
Reflecting on this verse, Dave expressed that no one in our community should be in physical need — with the resources within our church, everyone’s needs should be met! We as a church desire to help facilitate physical needs within our community being met. Below, we’ll address both those who have physical needs as well as those who desire to offer time and resources to help.
If You Have Physical Needs:
If you are part of the Reality SF church community and have some kind of physical need (financial or otherwise), please fill out this form so we can begin a process of helping you. Your information will be kept confidential and will only be shared with key pastoral staff. We understand that asking for financial help can be difficult and may present a temptation to feel shame or embarrassment. Perhaps you have shared your needs with people in our church before, and you were met with indifference or even rejection. If that has been your experience, we are sincerely sorry. We desire as a community to strive toward the generosity and compassion of Christ. Additionally, we are all one body with many members, and we count it as a joy to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters. That being said, please understand that our response to you may take time. With the holidays upon us and a limited staff, we will respond to requests as time and capacity permits.
If You Would Like to Offer Resources or Time to Help:
If you would like to offer resources or time to help those with physical needs in our church, please fill out this brief form. As stated above, please understand that our response to you may take time. With the holidays upon us and a limited staff, we will do our best to respond as time and capacity permits.
