When: Required Class: April 30th | Baptisms: May 7th
Where: Everett Middle School
Baptism is the Christian practice of declaring faith in Jesus by identifying with Him in His death and resurrection. We enter the water as a symbol of His entering the grave, and we rise out of the water in new life, as He rose from the grave in victory. After Jesus’ baptism, His Heavenly Father spoke from heaven, “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased” (Mark 1:9-11). When we are baptized, we celebrate that since we are now in Christ, by grace we also receive the Father’s blessing.
If you have not been baptized and wish to learn about what it means for a follower of Jesus, sign up for our Baptisms Class on Sunday, April 30th. In this class, RSF Minister of Spiritual Formation Julie Barrios will give a Biblical overview of baptism and lead everyone in a time of sharing and prayer. Should you decide to follow Jesus into the baptism waters, you will be baptized at our church-wide baptisms celebration on the following Sunday, May 7th, at 12:30PM at Everett Middle School!
