Wildfires Relief: Long-Term Involvement
Where: North Bay
The following is an update from Neighborhood Minister Tobi Grunick, who is leading our church’s wildfires relief efforts:
First, I wanted to thank all those who have prayed for and/or donated to victims of the Northern California wildfires. The donations were greatly appreciated by the organizations who received them, and the items have been distributed to those in need.
As I have continued to connect with organizations and churches in impacted areas, the most common feedback I have received is that they don’t have any immediate needs now, and they are waiting to see how support will be needed in the near future. Shelters have closed, and people have moved into short-term housing. Those who lost their homes have been able to return to at least survey the damage, and cleanups are starting soon.
With that said, it is rather difficult to clearly determine what is currently needed and how we as a church can continue to help. But, we are committed to stay connected and start helping as soon as we know what will be helpful.
If you want to be kept up to date with our efforts in the coming weeks, please fill out this brief form, and I will email updates out as our relief plans develop.
Please continue to pray for those who were affected — those who have lost homes or loved ones and are in stages of mourning, loss, and rebuilding. Pray that God would also show us how we can move forward in supporting long-term relief efforts.
If you have any questions or feedback, please email me at email@example.com.
