Erica Yi
Born in Alameda, CA, Erica grew up moving around the United States as a “military nomad,” living in various states from Georgia to Washington and beyond. She was raised in the Korean church, with her grandmother being the first Christian in her family lineage.

While Erica had an early connection to the church, it was during her first year at San Jose State University that she fully embraced discipleship to Jesus and began to experience intense times of spiritual and prophetic connection to the Spirit. After this transformative period of discovery, she decided to pursue a degree in theology, studying at Alpha Crucis College in Sydney, Australia, and furthered her education at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford University and The Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.
Through her personal transformation and desire to study theology, Erica first felt the pull toward vocational ministry. Before joining Reality SF, she spent five years as an Outreach Minister at St Mark’s Anglican Church in Sydney. She also dedicated time to raising her two sons, Tedi and Judah. In 2023, after major health issues in her family, Erica and her husband, James, felt a clear call from God to be closer to their relatives in the Bay Area. They moved from Boston and soon after found refuge in God and the church community at Reality.
Erica now serves as the Community Pastor, overseeing the church’s 60+ weekly Community Groups. Her role involves managing pathways for new members, supporting group leaders, and developing spiritually enriching content for group discussions.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys cooking, snorkeling, and all things pop culture.
