06.16.21 | The Love of Christ

In today’s BREAD reading from Ephesians 3, Paul writes to the church in Ephesus,

“I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God” (v17-19).

During today’s fasting and prayer focus, spend time in appreciation of Jesus’ great love for you. As you read Paul’s prayer, let the words of grasping and knowing Christ’s love for us sink in. Notice what stands out to you, and then journal about what you are hearing.

As you journal, consider the following prompts:

In chapter 3, Paul prays that the Ephesians may grasp and know Christ’s love together. For the remainder of your day, share the love you have experienced in Christ with others and ask your community how they have experienced Christ’s love in their own lives.
