It Takes a Village

We partner with families to raise kids who love, follow, and share Jesus.

Our Children’s Ministry Values

Humility: We serve one another, learn from each other, and seek to love as Christ loves us.
Faith: We courageously trust Jesus, believing He is at work in all that we do.
Love: We serve and care for others so they may discover the depths of God’s affection.
Safety: We foster a physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe space so every child can feel the freedom to be themselves.
Joy: We learn and practice joy, remembering our heavenly Father is always with us.

New Families Joining The Village

If your family is new to Reality SF, welcome! During this unique time when we cannot gather in person, we as a ministry still want to meet you and your children online via Zoom on Sunday mornings. Every Sunday at 9:30AM, children from 2 years old up to 5th grade are welcome to join us online for a time of storytelling, connection, and activities!

If you’re new and would like your children to be able to participate, please fill out The Card, which is our church’s main tool for connecting with new people. After you complete The Card, a member of our Family Ministry staff will follow up with you and send you information about how your children can join on Sundays. (In The Card, you’ll see a section called “I want to get involved at Reality SF.” Be sure to check “FAMILY” in this section.)

Sundays Online in The Village

During this time away from gathering in person, our children and volunteers are spending time together on Sundays online at 9:30AM. There are Zoom rooms specially designed for each of our age groups from 2 years old to 5th grade.

Parents who checked in their children at The Village anytime between January and March 2020 are already receiving details for how their children can join these Sunday Zoom rooms.

If you’d like your children be to be able to join and you’re not receiving these emails, please complete The Card and mark “FAMILY” under the section “I want to get involved at Reality SF.”

Safety in The Village

As we meet online during this time, we’re ensuring security and safety for every child in a few specific ways:

  1. All of our volunteers who are engaging with the children have been cleared through background checks.
  2. The Sunday Zoom meeting links are password protected and shared privately with only known families.
  3. All participants begin in a waiting room and are given access to the Zoom rooms once the host verifies their identity.
  4. In order to protect the privacy of our families, volunteers never take photos or screenshots of the children or post online about The Village Zoom rooms.

Volunteers Who Are Invested

We call ourselves “The Village” because we believe that faith in Jesus becomes captivating for young people when they witness the passion of a wide variety of believers in community, empowered by the Holy Spirit to embody the Gospel. And while your child’s most significant relationship is with you at home, they have a better chance of understanding life-changing truths when multiple influences are all reinforcing the same thing. That’s why our volunteers are trained and equipped to share the love of Jesus and embody God’s delight in every child. Our volunteers are like shepherds and mentors for our kids, desiring to see each child grow in their love for Christ.
