07.28.21 | The Great Commission

In today’s BREAD reading from Matthew 28, Jesus says to His disciples,

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Take a few minutes to sit with this passage, reading over it slowly, and then ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His heart to you.

Consider the following questions:

Continue to reflect on this passage and these questions. Consider if there are places where you have not allowed Jesus to have all authority in your life. Take time to confess to the Lord where you need help or forgiveness. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you, as He has promised to never leave you or forsake you. End your time with thanksgiving for this Great Commission and Jesus’ resurrection life in you.
