12.02.20 | Relationships
In today’s BREAD reading, John says, “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother or sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.” The fasting and prayer focus for today is on relationships.
Allow God to shed light on your relationships with your brothers and sisters. Reflect on the relationships you have and had; express your gratitude for them. If a relationship comes up where there seems to be darkness, reflect on that. If the Spirit leads you there, ask how he would want you to make amends for any of your wrong doing in it. Making amends might mean contacting that person, engaging in a conversation, and apologizing for what you’ve done wrong. It might also take further reflection on the wrong you did in the relationship and then making amends.
