12.09.20 | Remembering God’s Love
In today’s BREAD reading, John writes this about Jesus, “He who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood” (Revelation 1:5). The Advent season is all about the anticipation of God revealing his love to us through the sending of his son Jesus. Let’s use this week’s fasting focus to remind ourselves how much Jesus loves us, and then allow him to actually show us this love.
Today, open yourself up to God’s love: through prayer, mediation, scripture, nature, your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Once you have immersed yourself in his love, and if time allows, take a moment to confess your sins to him, all the while remembering that he loves you.
