Heather Casimere

Pastoral Resident

Born in Oakland and raised in Pinole, Heather was first introduced to Jesus through attending a Pentecostal church with her family. During camp as a preteen, Heather had a transformative encounter with the Holy Spirit while spending time alone in the forest. Over the years, her relationship with Jesus has been deepened through both joy and hardship, which have profoundly shaped her calling to ministry.

Heather studied Creative Writing at San Francisco State University and later pursued Theology & Culture at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. Prior to entering vocational ministry, she spent over 14 years working in higher education at universities including Columbia, Stanford, Seattle, and Arizona State. A lifelong learner, she continues to approach both her work and faith with curiosity and depth.

Heather has spent the past decade discerning a call to use her creative gifts in service of others—particularly in creating spaces of care and belonging for those who often go unseen. Her current role in pastoral ministry, with a focus on benevolence, is a natural extension of that calling. Heather has been a part of Reality SF since 2014, drawn by the Spirit-led environment and teaching. Her love for the coastal landscape and her Bay Area roots near family make serving in San Francisco especially meaningful.

As Pastoral Resident, Heather helps identify areas of need within the community and thoughtfully stewards people and resources to meet them—whether financial, emotional, or spiritual. With a heart for those on the margins, her work is shaped by a long journey of integrating creativity, compassion, and faith.

Outside of ministry, Heather enjoys swimming, painting, writing, and building forts with her nephews.
