Photo & Video Policy

General Policy

By attending services or events at Reality SF, you acknowledge that photography, video, and audio recording may occur and may be used for ministry, worship, communications, and promotional purposes, including live-streaming and online distribution.

At Reality SF, we love capturing moments from our gatherings and ministries as a way of celebrating the life of our church family and sharing what God is doing in our community. Photos, video, and audio recordings may occasionally be captured during Sunday services, classes, ministry programs, events, camps, and other church activities.

These images and recordings may be used for ministry-related purposes, including church communications, social media, printed materials, event promotion, and our website. We seek to steward all media with care and respect.

Because of the size of our church and the nature of shared public spaces, we cannot guarantee that attendees will never appear in photos or video captured during church activities, including incidental appearances in group or background images.

At times, photo galleries from events may be shared directly with attendees or participating families. Once those galleries are distributed, Reality SF is unable to manage or monitor how images may later be shared by individual attendees. We encourage everyone receiving galleries to share them thoughtfully and to honor any privacy requests they’re aware of.

If you would prefer not to appear in publicly-shared photos or video, please contact our team at media@realitysf.com or speak with a staff member so we can honor your request whenever reasonably possible.

Children’s Ministry Policy

Throughout the year, staff and volunteers may take photos or videos during Sunday services, classrooms, midweek programs, camps, events, and other children’s ministry activities as a way of documenting and celebrating the life of our church community. These images may also be used within children’s ministry environments, classroom projects, photo albums, and other ministry-related communications and materials.

At Reality SF, we understand that every family has different comfort levels regarding photography and online sharing. In some cases — including foster placements, adoption processes, legal protections, or other personal circumstances — additional privacy may be needed for children. Parents or guardians may opt out of having their child’s identifiable image publicly shared on Reality SF platforms, including our website, social media, printed materials, or other church communications.

Because of the size of our ministry and the nature of shared spaces, we cannot guarantee that children will never appear in photos or video captured during church activities, including incidental appearances in group or background images. However, our team works diligently to honor family preferences and carefully verify permissions before publicly posting identifiable images of children.

Families who would like to opt out of public photo/video sharing for their child may update their household profile settings through Planning Center Check-In, which is our system of record for photo permissions, or notify our team at children@realitysf.com. Opt-out requests apply to any images shared going forward; if you have concerns about previously captured images, please reach out and we will do our best to address them.

Parents and guardians are welcome to take photos or videos of their own child during ministry activities. However, we ask that families refrain from photographing or recording other children, volunteers, teachers, or staff without prior permission. During larger gatherings or public events where general photography is expected, please still be mindful of others and avoid closely photographing children who are not your own.
