The Venue

Please enter the Opera House on the east side from Van Ness Avenue.

Outside food and beverages (except water) will not be permitted into any venues, including the SF Ballet and Herbst Theatre.

The Opera House has implemented a new screening system to increase safety. Attendees will simply walk through the system. To learn more, you can visit the Opera House’s safety information page.

Restrooms are located on all levels except in the main lobby.

Seating & Tickets

To ensure a welcoming environment for all, seating will be ticketed by section to help everyone find seats more smoothly.

Upon arrival, groups will receive tickets based on those currently present and be assigned to a section. To allow for minor delays, you may pick up tickets for up to two additional people not yet present.

If you’d like to sit with your full group, please wait until everyone has arrived before coming through the doors. Each person entering the auditorium will need to have a ticket in hand.

Ushers will seat groups in the next available seats, and saving seats will not be available, so as to make room for all.

For details on reserve seating at the Herbst Theatre, see below.

Accessibility & Accommodations

All entrances are ADA accessible. For drop-off at the door, guests can utilize the entrance at 450 Franklin St. and enter through the striped awning.

If you or one of your guests uses a wheelchair, you may enter through the right-side, ramp entrance of the auditorium, or ask an usher for assistance. We’ll be happy to guide you to a reserved seating area.

If you, a guest, or loved one would benefit from specific accommodations in order to fully participate, we have seats reserved for those using mobility devices, a limited number of assistive listening devices, and other accommodations available by request. To help us prepare, please complete this short form.

The Herbst Theatre

To make space for more people to join us this Easter Sunday, we’ll also be hosting next door at the Herbst Theatre!

As you consider where to gather this Easter, we especially invite those who have attended Easter with us in previous years to consider the Herbst as a meaningful way to make room in the Opera House for guests, newcomers, and those who may be encountering the Gospel for the first time. This is an amazing opportunity to participate in the work God is doing in and through our church to be a blessing to our city!

Additionally, the Herbst Theatre is a great option for anyone who wants a guaranteed seat while still being part of our Easter celebration. By registering early, you will be guaranteed the number of seats needed for you and anyone joining you on Easter. (Please note, this does not reserve specific seats in the auditorium.)

Please note: The Easter service at the Herbst Theatre will be a high-quality audio and visual livestream of the Opera House, with some elements being unique to the venue.

Venue Information

The Herbst Theatre (401 Van Ness Ave.) is located in the War Memorial Veterans Building. Please enter the Veterans Building on the east side from Van Ness Avenue.

The Veterans Building is ADA accessible from the Van Ness entrance, and the Herbst Theatre is ADA accessible from the Veterans Building main lobby.

ADA seating is available on the Orchestra and Dress Circle levels. Please see an usher, and let them know what type of accommodations are needed.

Restrooms are located in the Horn Bar & Lounge (Lower Level), as well as on the first and second floors of the Veterans Building.

Children’s Program at the SF Ballet

Our children’s program will be hosted at the SF Ballet, where kids will joyfully celebrate the risen King through activities, song, and movement highlighting the human senses! Much like a Sunday at church, they will join their classes and teachers, engaging with the Easter story and interacting with creative elements that spark imagination, wonder, and joy.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to check-in their children at the SF Ballet (455 Franklin St.) before joining us at the Opera House. Check-in will begin at 9:30AM, and classrooms will be open for drop-off starting at 10AM. Volunteers will be stationed to help guide you between the two venues.

Children are welcome in our main service if they wish to forego the children’s program. Families with babies in their arms can enjoy reserved box-level seating in the Opera House auditorium.

For children that have not attended our children’s program at Reality previously, we recommend creating a new profile before arriving to make the check-in process easier on Easter Sunday. Parents and guardians can sign in or create a profile of their own at the link below, and then add children to their “household.”
