Acts Reading Plan

As part of our year focused on renewal, we are leading an initiative called “Love Our Neighbors,” where we’ll host a special outreach event every month in 2020. In each quarter, we’ll focus our efforts on one of four groups whom we feel called to support: youth, women, people experiencing homeless, and refugees/immigrants.

Valentines Day Party Recap

In seeking renewal in our city through outreach events, we desired to start where we gather every Sunday at Everett Middle School and love that community well.

So on February 15th, we invited members of our church to volunteer at our first Love Our Neighbors event, which was a Valentines Day Party for Everett families in collaboration with our Renewal Partner, Mobilize Love.

To share a few highlights from the day:

• 64 RSF members jumped in to volunteer — thank you to all who served!
• 89 guests from Everett came, including 58 kids and 31 parents
• Over a dozen Everett faculty and staff participated
• We served at total of 372 burgers and hot dogs
• Our volunteer barbers and hair stylists gave 14 haircuts
• We did 10 Loads of Laundry, specifically washing Everett’s sports team uniforms

The kids had a really great time with games and raffle prizes, and all the Everett teachers and staff were so grateful to partner with us to do something like this for their families. We’re already in talks with Mobilize Love and Everett to do more events for the families in this neighborhood… so stay tuned for more opportunities with this community whom God has called us to love.
