Salvation Army Service Recap

Response Team Serving w/ MealsinPlaceSF

Here’s how our COVID-19 Response Team partnered with the Salvation Army and SF Department of Homelessness to deliver hundreds of meals to our unhoused neighbors.

About the Program

During the pandemic, many services for unhoused San Franciscans have been put on hold or discontinued. In partnership with the SF Department of Homelessness, the Salvation Army created MealsinPlaceSF, a meal delivery program to prepare and deliver meals to people experiencing homelessness and living in encampments in San Francisco. This program ensured that basic needs were met and helped promote health and safety in the community.

Our Volunteer Response Team’s Service

Over the last two months, our COVID-19 Response Team helped package and deliver a total of 6,000 meals to over 650 unsheltered people in our city each week!

In this season, we are so thankful that we got to partner with the City of San Francisco and the Salvation Army to actively serve our neighbors and seek renewal of our city.

Thank you to all who served! Below are a few photos of our volunteers serving with Salvation Army staff.
