Tyler Madsen
Many years ago, an electric guitar showed up on Tyler’s front porch with a note reading: “To Tyler, from Jesus.” Years later, the Lord revealed to him that music would not just be a hobby, but his life’s work.
Growing up as a pastor’s kid, ministry has been an integral part of Tyler’s life from an early age. From being surrounded by a rich heritage of faith, immersed in the songs and stories of Jesus, Tyler’s journey has been deeply intertwined with his calling to serve in ministry.
Tyler attended Azusa Pacific University, where he discovered his vocation in music while majoring in Psychology. Since graduating, he has been privileged to pursue music full-time. Whether writing, recording, and releasing original music or touring with his band, Branches, he considers himself blessed to spend his days doing what he loves most.
As Music & Creative Pastor, Tyler spends much of his time devoted to encouraging and equipping our leadership and ministries to think creatively and proactively for the future of our church. He also oversees our music and production ministries, leads and guides other creative projects and initiatives, and contributes to writing and recording original music for Reality SF.
Outside of work, Tyler is an avid fan of Liverpool FC and Formula 1 Racing. He and Kelly live in the Richmond District with their son Morgan and boxer Dobby (a dog, not a professional fighter).
