Dave Lomas

Teaching & Vision Pastor | Elder

Born in the central valley town of Bakersfield, CA, Dave began following Jesus during his junior year of high school. In 1997, he started working in vocational ministry and was ordained at the age of 21 as a youth pastor.

After serving in ministry for about 10 years (1997-2007), Dave felt called by God to plant a church. In 2007, he and his wife Ashley moved to Carpinteria, CA to begin the process of planting with the Reality Family of Churches. They later heard God’s invitation to move to San Francisco, where, after a year of prayer meetings, the first Reality SF service was held on January 10, 2010.

As an elder, Dave helps shape the direction of the church, ensuring that Reality SF provides a space where people can explore faith in Christ and discover their role in God’s renewal. He also mentors emerging church leaders through Searock, an organization he co-founded.

In addition to his pastoral work, Dave is the author of The Truest Thing About You, a book that reflects the lessons he learned in his early years at Reality SF. He lives in the city with his wife Ashley, whom he met in high school, and their three children, Juniper, Nowen, and Valor.
